Pinterest idea

Dice with peas at dinner

Decide how many more bites of dinner your child has to eat before being excused. Let your child roll so she’s the one controlling her fate.
This has worked great with Addie!

Pinterest fun- paint in a bag

Another great activity I found on pinterest!
Put paint in a ziplock bag, tape to a window, and let the kids play! So easy and a great clean activity!
Addie wrote letters & shapes and pointed out all the new colors she was making.

Flashback Friday- a day late

2 Years ago we went on an East Coast cruise. We boarded in Boston and sailed to Canada.
 It was very cold!
We saw colorful leaves and had great clam chowder!

Pinterest fun- colored ice

Have you discovered pinterest yet? There are so many amazing ideas on this site. We have tried a couple of kids activities in the last couple of weeks. I have found out that Asher is not ready to paint, even with help from mommy ;)

Can you see the brown paint all over his face????

This week Addie and I made colored ice. Very simple and a great teaching activity.

First you fill your ice cube try with water.
Then you put a drop of food color in each section, I took this opportunity to teach Adelynn about mixing colors- red & yellow make orange etc.

Addie mixed the colors and water

Then freeze them!
We added the ice cubes to Addie and Asher's bath. It turned the water fun colors and they both had a blast trying to catch them and play with them until they melted.

Fun at the zoo

Now that it has finally cooled off here we have been heading to the zoo at least once a week. Last Friday we went with two of our favorite families!
Addie, R & E
The kids feed the giraffes, they got a little too close for Asher!

The girls playing in the "jeep"

Adelynn got to ride a real pony!

Asher didn't but I think he was happy with the wooden one- HA!

The first time Asher has notice the fish

I love it, Asher doesn't  want to be in the stroller the entire visit anymore!
So he is willing to follow our group around and not run too far away.

We got to feed the birds

Asher showed no fear around the birds...
I guess they are a little smaller than the giraffes

Amy, T, & Z were with us also

No trip to the zoo is complete without a ride on the merry-go-round!

Fun in Siloam Springs

We finally made it to Siloam Springs.
The entire ride to Arkansas Addie would says "See, I'm not throwing up!"

We got to Siloam Thursday night late and stayed til Saturday afternoon. Craig had a project that he was working on for John Brown University and I had plans to visit my friend Shannon and meet her new baby. We stayed at our friends Kim & Terri. They have an amazing house, we felt like we were staying at a B & B. Kim and Terri are grandparents so they had tons of toys for the kids which made packing easy!

(I did an awful job taking pictures this trip!)

Kim and Terri's house is just outside Siloam Springs (in the country) on a couple acres of land. Perfect for Adelynn to get her energy out!

Kim built a playhouse in the yard with a zipline and swings. Addie was in Heaven!

Friday we hung out with Shannon and Hosanna while daddy worked. We headed into Fayetteville for some fun. Friday night we had dinner with Kim &Terri and than I went out with Shannon for dessert and girls time.

Saturday morning we had breakfast with our good friends the Manns. We had lunch with Shannon, Jay , & Hosanna and than headed home. Quick trip! But we had fun visiting with our friends and meeting their kids!

(I can't believe I didn't get more pictures! I guess we were too busy having fun!)
