Food critic...I am not!

My sister-in-law Catherine has a blog called parsley and paper ( http://parsleyandpaper.blogspot.com/ ). She is a great writer and goes to nicer places then I. But I thought I would also throw my thoughts out on places I eat.

Today I ate lunch at Chick-fil-A. I was greeted by many smiling faces. I got the chicken BLT which was very delicious. I added BBQ sauce and honey mustard to give it an extra little kick! I would suggest you try the same. Rachel and Brook both got the 8 piece nuggets with waffle fries on the side. I think they enjoyed it because they didn't talk much while they were eating. Adelynn had a small fruit bowl. I gave her a fork and told her to dig in. She tried to use the fork but after a couple of flying fruit mishaps she decided to use her fingers.

The play area was super! Very clean and different from others I've seen. It was nice having Brooke and Rachel with me because they climbed all over with Addie and I didn't have to worry about her being trampled on by the older kids.

Monday Meltdowns!

Adelynn had about 7 meltdowns Monday. I think she gets frustrated with me because I don't understand what she is trying to say to me or I won't let her climb out of her car seat or highchair.

We had lunch with KiKi & Michelle yesterday at the pharmacy (an old fashion diner place), and Adelynn started crying because I wouldn't let her climb out of her highchair. The picture is her meltdown while we were eating.

Trying to stay cool in the pool :)

Last week it was 100 everyday! So each afternoon Addie and I would go swimming. She loves it! The kiddie pool is under an awning so even thought it is over 100 the pool is nice and cool. Adelynn likes to go around the edge of the pool and steal other kids toys. She brings her own but she seems to think the other kids have better toys.

Adelynn is getting more daring. She now dunks herself under the water and also tries to climb out of the pool. She want to go in the big kid pool but she is still in her swimmie diapers so that will have to wait until next year.

Monday, Monday....

We had a full weekend. It was Craig's Friday off but he decided to take a class instead of spending time with his girls. So we went to our Friend Katy's house for a playdate. Lots of fun! The kids shared really well, only one fight broke out over toys, both of the girls wanted to play with the stroller. Adelynn is learning to share SLOWLY!

Saturday we headed up to Lake Kiowa for some Father's day fun. Adelynn wanted to go out on the boat so Uncle Matt took her. Catherine, Vicki, Sophie (vic's dog), and I went along also. Adelynn has no fear! She started walking around and hanging off the side. She really wanted to jump in but we thought it was best that she went swimming near the house and the not in the middle of the lake. Uncle Matt also let Adelynn "drive". When she started "driving" she notice something bright orange! The key chain. This was the best thing to play with (in her mind) We couldn't keep her away from it. After several minutes of trying to convince her that taking the key out of the ignition wasn't a good idea we decided it was time to get her out of the boat and back on dry land.

Once we were ashore Adelynn was forced to go swimming. She wasn't to sure about the lake- You never know what might be lurking in the water- fish, turtles, ducks, or even snakes! But once we got her in past her ankles she was hooked! Playing in the water is her new favorite past time. I also enjoy her playing in the water because water + sun equals looooonnnnnnggggg nap! She was wiped from her boating and swimming expedition. Which was great for me because that meant I got to join a 3 hour game of Settlers of Catan- A Wilson Favorite!!

Sunday came and went with time in the lake and only one game of Robo Rally and now we are back home in Dallas enjoying the 100 degree weather :) I hope you all have a great week!

Picture of the week

So I take after my mom in many ways. But one way we are sooooo different is that I love to cook! I'm starting Adelynn young! This week was her first baking attempt! She got to mix the brownies (with a little help). Her favorite part was liking the spoon- Sorry Uncle Matt if she got any on your shirt!

Adelynn's Friday update

So it's Friday! This week went by so fast.
Adelynn is saying more and more words. Let me clarify that she is finally saying words we understand. The fact that she is almost 19 months and doesn't have tons of words was starting to worry us. She uses signs and totally understand us but she wasn't saying words in English. She would look at you and babel for like a minute and then look at you waiting for you to respond.

The reason this worried Craig (more than me) is that she has been ahead in most everything else I mean she started walking at 7 1/2 months. There are more examples but I don't want to brag to0 much :)

So this week she has said juice, apple, mama (YES! SHE FINALLY SAYS MY NAME), and a couple of other things. She still says her old stand bys - Da Da & duck. But I'm very excited. I hope she doesn't end up talking as much as I do :) If she does Craig is in trouble!!!!
