Working on our ABC's

This summer Addie and I have been working on letters and their sounds. She has really enjoyed painting each letter and I'm amazed at how quickly she is learning!

"P" is for
peacock, peas, polka-dots, prince and PRINCESS of course!

Once the artwork is done she wants me to hang it up right away, before it even dry.
We are on W and I hope to be done before we go to the lake house so we can start making cookies of each letter- YUMMY!

Ten on Tuesday

1. I so need a vacation!
2. Okay last week I started reading coupon blogs and now I'm applying what I've learned. I saved 40% this week. I'm aiming to get to 75% savings by September.
3. Do you fill shoe boxes for Christmas? This is a great time to fill your boxes with school supplies- crayons were $.25 last week Wal-mart.
4. We had a good time visiting with the Martyn's this past weekend. They headed back to Kenya Monday. Can't wait for their next visit. Hopefully will get to hang out more!
5.  In May Addie got a doll from the police while she was under their custody. It was very craptacular so I threw it away a couple of days later- the arms and legs were all over the house. Every time I take out the trash Addie ask me "wheres my doll?"
6. The summers are so hard on Adelynn and me. We don't have MOPS, Bible study, or Wiggles plus it's too hot to play outside for hours- by the end of July I'm going crazy trying to find us cheap things to do.
7. Addie is potty trained!!!!! I almost didn't want to put this in here because I don't want to jinx it! but I'm sooooo happy and proud of her! She even went to church this week in big girl panties.
8. Asher is a sleeping machine! He has slept through the night 2 nights in a row now....well he gets up at 5:30 but after I'm done feeding him I'm up for the day.
9. We are heading to the lake house this weekend! Addie has talked about it all week. Can't wait to see our friends from Siloam!!!
10. Addie has started doing chores. I made her a chore chart with pictures, every time she does a chore she get a sticker. Her jobs are-

  • Put her dishes in the sink
  • Pick up her clothes and put them in basket
  • Pick up toys
  • Feed the dogs
  • Make bed (she just pulls the quilt up and puts the big pillow on top)
She is doing a great job 3 days in I'll keep you updated!

Homemade Pizza

For the past couple of months I've been working at making pizza dough. I've had some issues-  not rolling out,  not raising, too sticky, too dry. But last night I made the perfect dough for us and on top of it I had great toppings!
Craig had his favorite- chicken, broccoli and my homemade low sodium red sauce with mushrooms, bell peppers and carrots
I had BBQ chicken pizza not as good as CPK but a good first try.

 Don't they look yummy!?!?!

Ten on Tuesday

1.  Love it! While Adelynn was playing with her princesses- the dolls were sitting down for "dinner" and I heard "Dear God thank you for the food AMEN!"
2. Asher has eczema doesn't look too pretty :( but he's still a cutie!
3. I think our pool has holes in it :( But it's a slow leak so I only have to fill it up a couple times a week!
4. I'm sad Craig and I couldn't go to youth camp. Maybe next year. Anyone want to babysit the kids for a week so we can?
5. My best friend from Siloam Springs is coming in a couple of weeks!!!!!! Yeah Shannon!
6. I have found the best burger in Dallas, it's at Bolsa.
7. Craig took me to see Michael Buble for our anniversary. One word- Amazing!
8. I've been reading a lot of coupon blogs lately. I use coupons but only save $10- $15. But if I follow these plans I could save more then I spend. Seems like a lot of work but I think it's worth it.
9. My parents have left Texas. After a month of them visiting they have moved on. We had a great time with them and we miss them already.
10. I need a vacation.

7 year itch...I don't think so!

Craig and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary on Sunday.

I had mention numerous times that there was going to be a Buble concert on our anniversary and that would be a perfect gift. Craig said the tickets were too expensive and that it wasn't going to happen this year. Well last Monday a fed-ex envelope came in the mail and it contained 2 tickets! He even had babysitters lined up! (Thank you Catherine for encouraging Craig to get tickets and also for babysitting!) Mom and Dad had given us a gift card for our anniversary, we had an excellent meal at Maggiano's (thank you!)  The concert was amazing, Craig thought it was one of the best he has ever seen!/heard! If you ever have a chance to see Buble you need to go he doesn't just sing but he also entertains the crowd with humours tales.

During dinner Craig and I reflected on our marriage and how lucky we are to have each other. This year is known as the 7 year itch. We are very aware that many marriage start to fall apart due to so many changes. We talked about ways for us to stay connected with the addition of children and other influences around us. We ask that you pray that we continue to grow together and closer to God in the upcoming years!

I feel so blessed to have Craig as a husband! God truly knew what He was doing when we brought us together!

Picture time!

We got our pictures taken at Target, we were all surprised at how well they turned out.

Asher the Chunk!

Asher's one month check-up

11 pounds 12 ounces
He is in the 90% for weight!
22 inches long 55%
I knew Asher was big but today I found out just how big he really is! 6 month clothing starts at 12 lbs!!!

Addie and Asher are total opposites!
Addie is in the 90% for height & the 50% for weight!

Asher's first bath

Adelynn is such a good big sister!
She couldn't wait to help, she was even willing to share her princess bubble bath!

Asher was happy with his first bath...all that have followed have not been as pleasant. Maybe he was just good because the entire family was in the bathroom and there was a camera????

Addie's TuTu

Addie took a nap today the first time in I don't know how long and instead of cleaning (which my house is in need of) I decided to do a little crafting. I saw on one of my favorite blogs Grosgrain a how to on making tutus. I've been wanting to make a tutu for Addie for a while so today was the day!
It was very easy and I didn't have to sew anything. The entire project cost $15 a lot cheaper then Etsy tutus and just as cute. I'm sure the project would have been cheaper if I had planned ahead of time and had some coupons for Joann's- next time!

If you have a tutu you most have a magic wand and crown!

Addie was so excited...can you tell?

Adelynn showing me her ballet skills!

I love that she was super excited it makes me want to make more things for her...little girls are so much fun!
(even it they live for PINK!)

Wordless Wednesday...Asher's 1st!
