Sensory Box: Water Beads

What are water beads?
They are beads full of water. They bounce, They're cool, they're fun!
I ordered mine online but I found them at the dollar store last week.
The water beads from the Dollar Tree don't get as big but they are still fun.

First I let the kids explore (play) with them

After a  while I tried to get the kids to sort them by color.
Adelynn did a great job, but notice the beads in the wrong container those were Asher attempts
At least he got them from the big bowl to the smaller one.

This was the first sensory box the kids couldn't get enough of. They played with them for 30 minutes or more the first day and everyday for a week.

Let's Pretend

Adelynn filled up her warm fuzzy jar which meant it was reward time. I saw a groupon for a dress up tea party store in Grapevine and knew it was something Addie would love.
Addie wanted to bring Rebecca to help her celebrate her 4th birthday.

Let's Pretend is a store with a tea room and a HUGE dress up closet in the back. The girls got to play dress up, have their hair done, get their nails painted and have cupcakes and tea.

A view of all the dress up dresses

So many accessories so little time!

Lake Kiowa and a new park

We headed up to the lake Thursday to celebrate the beginning of summer.

I know this is awful quality but I love the picture this is the first time Bailey has sat in the back with the kiddos. He really enjoyed it until Asher pulled his tail ;( Bailey made his way back to the front rather quickly after that happened.

Our friends the Vernons came to the lake with us. I only got one picture of the Vernons.
Here is Lori and Claire.
(Vernons if you have pictures send them my way and I'll add them)

Adelynn had a great time with Miranda and her friend Ju-Ju.

Claire's first time in a swing.

Kids playing in the sprinklers

The kids and I headed into Gainseville to visit the Frank Buck zoo. But while we were getting out of the van the kids saw an amazing park and really wanted to play before heading in the zoo.

"All Aboard!"

Asher driver the train

A very cool musical instrument

Driving a bus

They had tons of rope ladders

I tried so hard to get a cute picture of the BIGS on the frog slide.
I thought it would be perfect for the frog themed lake house!

While we were at the park I counted 10 school buses parking. The Frank Buck zoo is not very big so we played at the park for about an hour and than headed to the outlet.

End of the year performance

Adelynn's class had a little performance about creation.

Addie did her own modern dance moves during the songs ;)

Addie dressed herself, how do you like her boots?

Just a taste

New Job for Daddy

Asher in a MongoDB shirt

Daddy got a new job. He is now working for MongoDB which is part of 10gen. Yeah. I've never heard of these companies either, but if you work in the computer world you probably have (so I've been told). They have offices in Palo Alto & New York but no worries we aren't moving,
Craigs working from home which I'm loving! When I need to pick Adelynn up from school I don't have to wake Asher & Claire up. During quite time I can run to the store or other errands.
And he gets to travel. I'm hoping that in the near futures I might get to go on one of his business trips. Anyone want to watch 3 kids????
