The Science museum

I don't understand it but Addie could stand here and watch these ping-pongs forever!

Addie and Asher working on the fire truck

Part of the new dinosaur exhibit

The Science Museum was empty today. I think we only saw 2 other families in the children's area. Lots of school kids visiting the dinosaurs but no one down stairs.

Can you guess what Adelynn is?

Saw this DIY costume on the Today show and thought I could throw it together rather easy.
Does this help?

 Yup! She was Sushi today!

Dallas Arboretum

Today Addie, Asher and I headed to the Dallas Arboretum pumpkin patch to meet up with the MOPS group. Only 2 other family showed up but we had a fun time with the small group.

I asked Addie to hold Asher so he wouldn't fall-Didn't she do a great job!

 Playing Queen of the mountain!

Visiting the petting zoo.

Inside one of the pumpkin houses

Addie got her face painted.....after waiting 30 minutes or more,  Addie had to go potty. The nice mom in front of me said she would hold my place. After a long run to the closest bathroom we almost missed our turn. But Adelynn said it was worth the wait!

They had giant books in front of each house with little facts about pumpkins, and of course Addie found the book about a princess, can you guess which princess the story was about????
Did you guess Cinderella? You are right!
Did you know that in the original story the glass slippers were really fur slippers!
Well now you do! Aren't you glad you read my blog?!?!?

Asher in his Johnny Jump up.

This is a very boring video of Asher in his Johnny Jump-up. He doesn't like it as much as Addie liked it. All kids are different...at least thats what I'm told :0)

Here is a video of Adelynn in the Johnny Jump-up when she was around 4 months old.

Trunk or Treat

Trunk or Treat at PCBC (our church) was this past Sunday. We had tons of fun with Do-dad, Uncle Luke, Aunt CiCi (Maci), and Daddy.

Since July I've been thinking of tons of fun things for Adelynn to be for Halloween- Mary Poppins, Little Red Riding hood, a fairy....the list goes on and on. One Saturday Vicki and I went to a costume store and then called Addie to ask her what she wanted to be, I was sure she would pick a princess but to our surprise she picked DORA! She wanted Asher to be Boots (the monkey) and Daddy to be Diego. Well Asher was Boots and Daddy dressed up as....Daddy!

The Dora costume is very plain except for the wig. If Adelynn wouldn't wear the wig she would look like a kid wearing a t-shirt and shorts. The wig was huge! It fit my head, so Vicki fixed it as much as she could and then we added some ribbon to tie it to Addie's head. It was still no on the greatest but I told Addie that if she wanted candy she would have to keep the wig on.

Do-Dad and I trying to get the wig on.

Still trying

Asher costume was a little too big so I put the monkey onesie on my baby carrier and the monkey hat on him. This worked out great! He didn't play with the hat at all.

Ready to get her treats!

Here are a couple pictures of the family, notice Addie playing with the wig in all the pictures. As soon as we hit the last car the wig came off! I hope she'll wear it on Halloween- fingers crossed!
The wig really makes the outfit!

Free Fun!

Last Sunday our neighborhood woke up with a flood on our street. Some pipe broke and Lacrosse Dr. was turned into Lacrosse "River" The city came out and fixed the broken pipe and to cover it up they just  made a mess with concrete. It looked awful!
But on Friday the city came back out to fix our street. Around 7 our dogs started going crazy because of all the trucks and workmen out front. Addie decided to see what all the barking was about- she was excited to see a big bulldozer out front and she wanted to check it out up close.
So the family made a "field trip" out of the city workers.

Addie standing far away so she wouldn't get hit by any flying rocks.

Men hard at work
Asher was really excited about the trucks, he talked about it ALL DAY!
j/k

We sat on our neighbors lawn watching the excitement from a safe distant. Addie really enjoyed watching the men work. We sat here for about 10 minutes...Craig got bored he went inside with Asher....I sat with Addie explaining as much as I could about the workers were up to.

I finally convinced Adelynn it was time to go in and then she spotted a worm, which meant another 5 minutes watching a worm cross from the grass to the street.
Oh what an exciting life I live!

The city workers took a brake for lunch and the bulldozer went bye-bye and then the cement truck came. Craig took Addie out to watch that excitement. And on the way home from that visit Craig and Addie found a rolly-polly that Addie got to hold :)

Cowgirl Museum

Addie got to "ride" horse at the Cowgirl Hall of Fame while we were in Ft. Worth. Enjoy the video!

I also joined in the fun....don't make fun of me I was trying to show Addie what to do....this video is embarrassing but it makes for a good laugh :)

Outside time

Now that the weather is cooler we spent a lot of time in the backyard. Asher and I play on our  quilts and Adelynn and Daddy entertain us ;)

 Do you like her outfit?
Yes, she dressed herself...notice my purple crocs.

We end today's blog with a video of Addie directing her choir (Daddy) on how to sing one of her favorite songs from church choir. Feel free to join in and sing along.....

Fun in Ft. Worth

Breakfast with Do-Dad and KiKi.
Adelynn had waffles for breakfast during our staycation.Since our return to Dallas Adelynn kept asking for berries with her waffles I couldn't figure out why until I remembered that every time we order her waffles they came with an assortment of berries.

Fun at the Ft. Worth Science Museum
(a lot more fun than the Dallas kid's museum)

The Princess in her BIG bed!

Ft. Worth Zoo-
It was a great zoo to visit, in the top 5 in the nation (according to signs they had posted)
I kept hearing from people how great the Ft. Worth Zoo was. It's good but I still love our Dallas zoo, if any of the readers out there come to visit I promise to take you!

A little love for Daddy

Addie looking at the map and deciding what we should see next!
