Bikes

Do-Dad and Ki-Ki  bought the kiddos bikes for the lake and Adelynn
wanted to head up to the lake to try them out.

Adelynn and her lake bike- kept her and Do-Dad busy for hours!

Asher got a bike also. He can't make it go on his own and Do-Dad and my back couldn't take bending over and pushing him so Do-Dad tied rope and pulled him. Worked great!
Asher loved it!

Craft time

During winter break we've been doing lots of crafts.

One of the gifts Addie got for Christmas was a weaving kit. She was dying to try it. So I got it out and taught her what to do. Addie kept saying "this is a lot harder than I thought it would be."
She had fun and had lots of help, but we still aren't finished with one pot holder. Maybe over spring break we'll pull it out again.

Addie wanted to paint one day so I got her started and Asher told me he wanted to do art also. So I got him in his chair and gave him some crayons. This was not what he wanted to do he wanted to paint with Addie. I was a little nervous to give Asher paint, Addie makes a big enough mess all by herself. However Asher loved it and made a MUCH smaller mess than Addie.
I forgot Asher does not like getting dirty;)

Finally!

This year for Christmas Craig and I got furniture for Addie's room.
Craig didn't think it was needed.
He was fine with the mattress on the floor and clothes in plastic tubs in the closet. However I had other thoughts and I think it looks great!

Thank you Wilson's for a great Christmas gift. That will be used for years!

Dallas Arboretum with Papa

A couple of weeks before Christmas we took Papa to the Dallas Arboretum. This was his first trip, and we hadn't visited in over a year!

Since it winter most of the flowers were pansies but we didn't care they had lots of other cool things to look at!

As we entered we were greeted by Rudolph and Frosty.
Addie was excited. Asher was not ;)
He stayed in the stroller.

During the winter months they have Fairy Tale houses for visitors to explore.
Adelynn was in Heaven!

Aladdin's house

Belle's castle
The Princess and the Pea
 We got a new stroller- A sit-n-stand
We are loving it! Hope the kids are willing to share their new ride once Miss Claire arrives!

Kids loved the pioneer area. So much to explore!
We had to pull Asher away from the covered wagon kicking and screaming.

But once he found this cool house he forgot all about the wagon.

Snow White was waiting for us  to say good-bye

We had lots of fun and will have to return in the spring when all the tulips have bloomed!

Christmas at our house

Both of our kiddos were sick Christmas day ;(
Craig and I were up at 7 waiting and waiting for the kids to wake up and they slept in!
Addie got up at 7:45 and Asher got up around 8:15.

When Adelynn got up we decided that it was okay for her to open her gifts without Asher
because who knew how long he would sleep and have you ever tried to to keep a 4 year old waiting on Christmas day?!?!?

Notice Addie's pretty pink eyes!

Adelynn was so excited to give me the Christmas gift she picked out for me.

Addie got "big" girl legos this year.
Daddy was a little more excited than Addie-
Can you tell?

Once Asher finally woke up he was ready to go!

Asher and his baby doll

Asher practicing his math skills- Ha!
I saw this toy at Toys R Us and I remembered playing with it as a kid so I had to get one for Asher.
Both kiddos are in love with it! Nothing beats classic toys.

The Zoo with Aunt Maci

The Friday before Christmas the kids and I took Aunt Maci to the zoo to help her walk her baby out! And as you know we look for any reason to visit the zoo!

Asher checking out the elephants

Aunt Maci and Adelynn hanging out!

The kids playing on the slide.

The kids have been playing so well together lately, I hope it continues once Claire gets here.
It will make my life a lot easier!

It was a cold day and we were one of the few at zoo. We had a good time showing Aunt Maci around the zoo, however I don't think we helped her walk the baby out because Maci was still pregnant a week later.

Christmas Cookies

Adelynn and I made sugar cookies a couple of days before Christmas.
A tradition we started last year.

My Aunt Shellie made matching aprons for my mom and me when I was younger. Since my mom doesn't cook these aprons were kept in perfect condition for Addie and I to use. They're still a little too big for Addie but she didn't seem to mind!

Tasting the batter

Adelynn's favorite part is licking the mixer!

Hours later we cut manger shapes out of our dough. This was a great opportunity for us to review the true meaning of Christmas. Addie told me about each piece and what part they played in Jesus' birth.

The next day we decorated the cookies

 Asher thought they tasted great!

I didn't get any pictures of our finished project, but let me tell you Addie decorated all the pieces herself and they were covered with sprinkles! From head to toe and about an inch high!
I promise to get pictures next year!
