4th of July at the Lake

We headed to Lake Kiowa for our traditional 4th of July Celebration.

Addie and Asher played in the water tons this weekend.....
well Addie played and swam and Asher just clung to me or Daddy.

The weekend was super hot above, 100 most days. Addie and Asher stayed cool by enjoying Icee Pops. If you don't know Icee Pops can get messy so they had to eat them outside.

This was Asher's first Icee Pop and he loved it! When it was all gone he just walked around with the wrapper trying to get more out.

On one of the many mommy blogs I read I found the idea of using an
igloo as a water table. I thought it would be prefect for the lake.

All you have to do is fill an igloo with water and put some cups and misc.
toys that are water safe and you have a water table wherever you go!

The kids played with this for hours!

--okay not hours since it was too hot to stay outside for hours
but they did play with it for a very long time ;)--

On the 4th we headed over to the lodge to watch the Lake Kiowa's parade.

The parade starts with a fire truck and Addie thought it was a little loud!

Now the Kiowa Parade is no Rose Bowl Parade this floats are usually golf card decorated.
The best part is that the "floats" throw candy and toys!

Addie grabbing her goodies!
After the parade we headed over to the lodges lawn for some carnival fun with Do-Dad.

Addie got to stay up extra late to watch the fireworks. She loved the show but thought it was a little loud.
Sorry no pictures of the fireworks:(
