We are not on a diet...but we are eating better

Craig went to the doctor and found out that he needed to watch his cholesterol. Since he isn't even 30 we decided we needed to change the way we eat. We aren't dieting we are just eating less and lowering our sodium intake. We are also trying to add "color" to our diet- which means vegetables.
So if you know Craig and I you know that this could be hard we love our fast food. Craig is also a very picky eater and veggies are only on his plate if it's from a Chinese restaurant.
However Craig has been doing really good. He has had at least one vegetable on his plate for the past 2 weeks and he has been eating the right portion size.

This new way of life has upset my schedule. I'm having to revamp my cooking big time. I've been researching new recipes and have found some good ones. I'm trying to be creative by using leftover items in a new way later in the week.

Tuesday Night- I made a low sodium red sauce. It was very good, it had mushrooms, onion, and red bell peppers in it and Craig still ate it! Unbelievable!!!!!

Friday night- I made pizza dough and used the left over red sauce. I think this was the first time Craig ate veggies on a pizza ;).

Adding new colors to our diet!

Pizza before entering the oven- notice my new pampered chef stoneware!

PS- Before I get emails that there was no mention or pictures of Addie please look at the title of my blog....sometime I've got to talk about something other than my adorable kiddo ;)

Family day at the park with PCBC (our church)

On Saturday Do-Dad and mommy took miss Adelynn to family day at the park. The church had bouncy houses, a petting zoo, snow cones, face painting, potato sack races, and much more. It was lots of fun! We were sad daddy couldn't come because of the pollen in the air but we were very happy that Do-Dad came to play with us.

Once Addie got to the top she started crying and didn't want to come down. Do-Dad and mommy cheered her on from the ground level. She finally came down once she realized it was just a big slide....
but she cried the entire way down :)
Getting her face painted- her favorite thing we did!

Do-Dad teaching Addie how to feed the animals.

Our last stop was a visit with our churches bunny Parker.

Science Museum with the twins

Addie and I go to the Science Museum most Wednesday for story time. Last week the twins and their mom came with us. Since Addie is a pro at the museum she showed them the ropes of how to work the farm and the dinosaur dig area.

First you get the bag ready....

Then you collect the eggs

Addie showing JJ and B how to milk the cow.

One of Adelynn's favorite things to do at the museum is play with the doll house. I so don't get this since she has one at home and the museum has so many other cool things to play with.

Easter Sunday

Here are some pictures of Addie in her Easter dress. As you can tell we never got a perfect picture but we got a couple of cute ones.

(BTW Addie calls this her Tinker Bell dress because it's green)

After Church we went over to Do-Dad's and KiKi's for lunch. Adelynn got to open her Easter gifts from Grandma & PaPa while she waited for lunch. She was so excited about the card they sent her she didn't want to open her gift for another 10 minutes.
(the card had stickers in it)

Addie got 2 DVD's for Easter Pocahontas from Grandma & PaPa and Toy Story from the Easter Bunny

Egg hunt at Bentley Manor

Thursday Addie, Ki-Ki, and I went to Bentley Manor for an Easter Egg hunt. Bentley Manor is a senior living facilities. They had a nice set up for all the kids and mommies- cookies and sherbet punch. Adelynn collected about 2 dozen eggs and they were filled with some great goodies for Daddy.
